It’s been a really amazing year, and a lot of it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t posted Gotta Digg on YouTube, so I feel like this is the least I can do to say thanks to all the people who have helped me along the way. no, but i wish i did.
How was your day?
my day… it was fun! i packed up all my merch things so i can take inventory this week, drove home to MV from LA, spent a few hours on the video, worked out some website things with misa, worked on the video again while misa voluntarily packaged a TON of my merch (THANK YOU!), came downstairs, realized i was starving, was handed a plate full of yummy food from emi, did final touches on the video, finished packaging the merch, started writing the blog… and.. now… umm..

1) For those of you who haven’t noticed, last week I put up a map that you can add yourself to so we can see where everyone hails from. I wanted to keep it hush-hush until we decided whether or not we liked it. Go check it out!

Tip: If you add yourself but don’t upload a picture right away, you won’t be able to edit your profile and add a picture later. Therefore, I recommend adding it when you create your profile if you’re going to add one at all.

2) We’ve got a big surprise coming on Tuesday, 12/23. Welll…I’ll ruin the surprise for you so you don’t accidentally think we’re previewing the album or something, but it’ll be a surprise for the rest of the online world. On the anniversary of Gotta Digg we’re going to put the original (high-quality!) mp3 up for free download, “Senator Ron Paul” and all. Consider it a little Christmahannukwanzaa gift from Kina to the world. We want all the Diggers who loved the video to have a chance to download the song. I’ll let you know when the song’s up, and if you like it, Digg it up and spread the word! Tell your friends! Be ready! (Next on my to-do list is write a letter of apology-slash-warning to the hosting company.)

the teeny tiny tour! *UPDATE* you need to make an account with eventful.com and “add event to favorites” for your RSVP to register :( if you just click I’m going, nothing will happen…. make sure you see your name under the “people going” section.

i need to get a idea for how many people will be making it out to these shows, so i made these cool little widgets for people to rsvp on! to keep things accurate, if you live in st. louis but won’t be able to make it to the show (*wipes tear from cheek*), no rsvping just to make me feel good! likewise, if you’re in sweden or the netherlands or australia, no rsvping for you either :( but hopefully someday you’ll have your own show to rsvp to!

you can also “grab” these widgets and add them to your pages to help get the word out about these shows. if you happen to know any friends in these cities, you can email them the link to the event so they know too!
also, i’m planning on having at least ONE meetup while on the teeny tiny tour, so i will keep you posted on that. i can’t wait :)

one more thing- you’ll see these widgets on my myspace too, and perhaps elsewhere, but you just have to rsvp once and it will keep track of you!

i can, but by no means does that make me an ice skater… haha. the last time i went was in 2006 in new zealand with my kiwi friend who was a competitive ice skater. it was lovely.

Hi all, Webmistress here. Now that I’m two updates behind I thought I’d go ahead and update the blahg. The blog will be down for between 30 minutes to an hour beginning at 9PM EDT (isn’t that what EST is called when Daylight Savings time is on? I don’t even remember which half of the year uses DST. Sigh.), a.k.a. in 1 hour 15 minutes. Brace yourselves!

Okay, all done, and you’ll also notice to my right that LOOK IT’S A NEW SHOUTBOX! In the interim while we search for our ideal solution (with the help of some of our friends /waves at Alderin) I wanted to see if we could try this again, this time hopefully without killing the server. Now, part of my motivation in doing this is relieving some of the load on the post comment threads, as much fun as it’s been racing to 10,000. It’s been a fun ride, but I think it might be a bit overwhelming or intimidating for newbies, not to mention that it makes it hard for Kina to find relevant comments in her busy schedule (the “Great video Kina just wanted to tell you how much I love your music” comments tend to get lost amongst the discussions about yummy food), and I think at this critical time in her career when she’s preparing for her big debut we can’t risk alienating anyone.

Now, I know this tiny shoutbox isn’t really conducive to some of the in-depth conversations people have been having, so I’d like to humbly request that more involved conversations that are completely unrelated to anything Kina-esque either happen on the old Wall page (link is in the sidebar–who says it has to die?) or in the forums. I’m not saying you can’t talk in the comment threads, it just gets hard for a more casual blog reader to get through it if each post holds 1500 comments. So next time you feel like asking what someone had for breakfast, why not give the shoutbox a try? :D

i almost forgot!

wwar1ace, in his awesomeness, came up with a way to coordinate street team efforts in requesting my songs from radio stations. at the very least people will start to take notice if they get enough requests :) to see how it works, visit the page here. check back every week to find out which song to request, which stations to request from, and to vote for the next week’s song.

so last week was one of the craziest weeks ever– BUT– last friday i took home the first version of the new album (it will still be tweaked, edited, mastered, etc)!!! i’m not going to get too into it… but turns out i’m pretty excited :)

the teeny tiny tour… here we go:
this little psuedo tour will be taking place from feb 23-26ish. the dates and venues are not set yet, but i will be hitting up, in this order:
- Washington, D.C.
- an American Heart Association “Go Red For Women” Event in South NJ
- Philadelphia, PA
- New York, NY
- St. Louis, MO

i am sooooo excited! i’ve only played one show on the east coast EVER and NONE in the midwest. i hope to meet a lot of you in person :)

oovret: Week 31

What is your dream car?
i quite like the shape of BMW 3 series… but i think my little honda civic looks close enough :) my dream car would probably fly though.
Are you allergic to any foods?
hmmm… not really. i think my body likes soy better than dairy, but i still consume both. i am, however, allergic to cats and rabbits and dust and pollen and tylenol.
If you could own either C-3PO or R2-D2, which would you choose?
r2d2 is cuter, but he’d probably get a little annoying. hm.
What is your hot beverage of choice, for a Tim Tam Slam?
oh boy, if you want to be really decadent– hot chocolate. for a lighter experience, i’d go with english breakfast tea with some milk in it.
Do you enjoy shopping?
um… sometimes i think i do, and then i go, and then i want to leave. it can be fun, but i’m a pretty impatient shopper, i just start thinking about all the other things i could be doing with my time. plus i start to feel really sick when i spend money.

p.s. oops… correction! i meant “austyn” not “austin”!! (i used up my quota of brain cells for the week!) sorry cousin :)

… i’m afraid it is happening again. only this time… i don’t have an off studio day until sunday!! i’ll have to come up with something… goodness knows what will happen if i skip an entire week. most likely i’ll be fired. this week is particularly insane because we’re trying to finish all the vocals in addition to finishing up the tracks for their final evaluation… then i get a few days off to sit with the songs and mull them over before we make our final changes. ahh!!

but back to the point– ahh!! i’m sorry! again! and this time if i make an apology video it will seem so …. done. *sigh* hopefully i’ll find a moment during the week to put up something fun. thank you all for being so patient and lovely.

oof this feels so bad leaving you with nothing exciting. but i have to go play some sounds on the song i wrote in costa rica (figured i’d make you work for it…).
